Day 1: Fes / Azrou / Midelt / Ziz / Merzouga / Erg Chebbi desert:
The adventure begins when we pick you up at your hotel in Fes around 8:00 am for the whole of Midelt through the mountains and cedar forests of the Atlas impressive half. We pass through Ifrane, a charming ski resort and Azrou, an important center of craftsmanship specializing in the work of cedar wood. We will have lunch in Midelt. In the afternon we will head to the small town of Erfoud and then into the desert. We will have camels waiting to take us in the beautiful Erg Chebbi, where we will spend the night in a bivouac (camp). There you will enjoy a Berber dinner, and sleep in traditional Nomad camel hair tent. The silence and beauty of the Sahara will amaze you.
Day 2: Merzouga / Rissani / Erfoud / Todra Gorges / Dades Gorges:
Sunrise in the Sahara is a beautiful time for photographs. We will get up early and have breakfast in the open air, before returning by camel to nearby hotels for a shower. Then, we leave for Erfoud, which is known for its fossils and geology. We drive through beautiful palm groves before stopping for lunch and a short ride through the impressive Todra Gorge. A stream runs through the center of the impressive rocky gorge, and you will walk through local orchards and villages. It’s a great respite from the desert heat. After a hike we head to our stoping point Boumalne de Dades, where we relax and dine in a hotel.
Day 3: The Dades Gorges / Roses Valley / Skoura / Ouarzazate / Kasbah ait Benhadou / Marrakech:
After breakfast, we will take a short walk in the Dades Gorges before departure from Marrakech. The gorge is a wonderful site, and you will be able to take many pictures of the ancient kasbahs and villages. We will follow the Dades Valley via El Kelaa Magona, the Valley of the Roses and the road of a thousand kasbahs. We will visit Ouarzazate and stop for lunch in the village of Ait Benhadou. We will have time to explore the famous UNESCO protected site, featured in many movies such as Gladiator, Lawrance of Arabia, and many more. Then we will head through the breathtaking landscapes of the Tichka to reach Marrakech.
