Tour from Fez to Marrakech 4 Days, 4 Days Morocco desert tour from Fez to Marrakech, 4 Days Marrakech to Fez, Ait Ben Haddou, Dades Gorge, Camel trekking in Merzouga, Fez.
Take a 4-day tour of the High Atlas Mountains from Marrakech to Fez with a small group. Visit many attractions along the way, including the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, the Valley of the Roses, the Dades and Todra Gorges, and an overnight stay in the Sahara Desert with a camel ride.
After breakfast we will embark on a scenic drive towards Ifrane, through the hills covered with forests of cork oak and giant cedar, home to some Barbary monkeys. Crossing beautiful and quiet passes over the Middle and High Atlas ranges we will catch a first glimpse of its incredible southern architecture. Lunch in Midelt, approached through a shady plain of scrub and desert. The dramatic peaks of the High Atlas, rising behind the city, offer a spectacular backdrop. Crossing Tizi-n-Talremt (Camel Pass), we descend into a desert plain along the Ziz valley. We will then head south towards Erfoud and Rissani, a large oasis containing more than six million palm trees, surrounded by many ksours (fortified villages).
Continuing along an amazing route that marks the transition into the desert, when we arrive in Merzouga we will be greeted with a glass of tea. We have time to relax, then we are ready to ride camels in the pink sands of the highest dunes in Morocco. We will have time to stroll through the dunes before sunset. Dinner is served, followed by traditional music and night in a nomad tent.
If we wake up in time, we can see the spectacle of sunrise, when the color of the dunes combine with the play of shadows to make a breathtaking view. After breakfast we go on the road on camels for a couple of hours (or less, but it depends on you) before leaving for Tinghir and Todra for lunch. The road passes through Tinejdad and the Todra Valley. This stunning area offers plenty of opportunities for walking, such as along the river through the gardens or the road across the gorge. Later, we continue to the Dades Valley and the Dades Gorges before spending the night in a hotel.
After breakfast there is time to relax on the terrace of the hotel, with excellent views of the fertile Dades Valley. Alternatively, we offer an optional 1-2 hour hike through the villages of this charming area, passing fields cultivated by Berber women, with the peaks of the High Atlas as an appropriate backdrop. Our journey will then continue towards Ouarzazate, going off road along the Boutararar track to visit Berber nomads in their caves and partake in a glass of tea with them. From here, we will continue through the Valley of the Roses, famous for its Rose Festival in May, and past the kasbahs of Skoura. We will stay in a Riad in Ouarzazate.
After breakfast, our route continues Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, World Heritage Site and the backdrop of many Hollywood movies. This is the most famous kasbah in Morocco. From here, a newly paved road follows Télouet. Telouet is located right in the middle of the mountains, and was the seat of the last Pasha of Marrakech, El Glaoui, from where the highest pass in Africa, Tizi n’Tichka, was controlled. In the late afternoon we will arrive in Marrakech.
